Navigating Cultural Competency - Community Policing

Days One and Two: Navigating Cultural Competency Workshop Participants will embark on a journey to understand the spectrum of cultural competency, from cultural destructiveness to cultural proficiency. Through interactive sessions, case studies, and group activities, attendees will reflect on their own experiences while gaining insights into effective strategies for fostering respect and understanding in diverse communities. Day 3: Community Policing Workshop This day focuses on the foundational principles of community policing. Participants will examine the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The session will feature discussions on innovative policing models, community engagement practices, and the role of transparency in building trust. Both workshops will include Action Planning and Implementation Participants will work collaboratively to develop actionable plans that implement cultural competency and community policing concepts in their community. Discussions and group activities will ensure that each participant leaves with practical tools and resources to enact positive change within their communities.
